Clejo Bocock went home to be with the Lord November 15, 2007 at the age of 98. She was born December 3, 1908 in Causey, New Mexico to Robert and Margaret Wells. She was one of thirteen children. The family moved from Missouri to homestead at Causey.
She married Barney F. Bocock on January 1, 1925 and they were married 67 years until his death in 1992 at the age of 86. She was a homemaker and excellent cook. She enjoyed cooking for her family and church. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Orella Quilting Club. She and her husband owned and operated a tire business in Raton, New Mexico and later Hereford, Texas. She worked many years part-time at Ranchers and Farmers Livestock Auction.
She was a former member of First Baptist Church where she served for many years and was active in WMU. She was a charter member of Parkland Baptist Church where she attended Sunday School, Worship, Tuesday morning Bible study class, Wednesday prayer meeting and was a dedicated servant of the Lord.
She is survived by her son, Barney Bocock Lavena of Clovis, New Mexico; her daughter, Betty Trzcinski of Sedona, Arizona; one sister, Mildred McElroy of Clovis, New Mexico; one sister-in-law, Bertha Wells of Clovis, New Mexico; four grandchildren, John Bocock Loyce of Edgewood, New Mexico, Linda Bocock of Clovis, New Mexico, Henry Trzcinski Nancy of Yardley, Pennsylvania and Patricia Onion Charles of Bellingham, Washington; nine great-grandchildren, Jeremy Bocock Kristi of Edgewood, New Mexico, David Bocock Julie of Glendora, California, James Walker of Lubbock, Texas, Laura Walker of Portales, New Mexico, Diana Parham Joseph of Temecula, California, Matthew and Christine Trzcinski of Yardley, Pennsylvania, Sarah Onion of Marina Del Rey, California, Jaclyn McMahon John of Gilbert, Arizona; three great-great-grandchildren, Hayden and Tesslynn Bocock and Hudson Bocock and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, November 19, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Parkland Baptist Church in Clovis, New Mexico, with Pastor Doug Brooks and Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Pallbearers will be Gary Elliott, Gary Zoelzer, Charlie Eldridge, George England, Tom Fulmer and Randy Dayhoff. Honorary pallbearers will be all her Parkland friends.
