Clelley Alvin C.A. House of Clovis, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at his home.brHe was born on October 6, 1916 in Tucumcarl, NM, to Joseph Franklin and Bertha V.brGore House. brbrSince his father was employed by the railroad his work sent hlm and hisbrfamily to Winslow, Arizona where they lived for a short period of tlme. When the familybrreturned to New Mexico they settled south of Clovis. It was here that C.A. started school as a first grader at Point Enterprize. Later this school consolidated with Moye Sunrise and was named the Center School. After a few years the family moved to the Ranchvale community where C.A. completed his high school years graduating in 1934. brbrHe was very active ln all types of sports. His parents had a school bus route contract and C.A. drove this bus during his senior year and as a post graduate student. Afterwards he worked for the late John Garrett and continued working for him for ten years. During this time C.A. married Imagene Matlock on March 6, 1943. He beganbrfarming for himself in 1948 and was very successful raising hay and other crops. Hebrretired from farming in 1981. During retirement C.A. and Imagene traveled with thebrGoGo Good Sam's Club, and went on their yearly ilshlng trip to Navajo Lake. C.A.brenjoyed developing his proflclent carpenter skllls by creating various furniture items andbrremodeling houses for his family.brbrHe taught Sunday School classes and served as a deacon for the Ranchvale, Central andbrParkland Baptist churches. He currently was a member at Parkland Baptist Church.brOne of C.A.s sincere desires was that all of his family would love and serve the Lord asbrhe did.brbrHe was preceded in death by his parents, a twin daughter, Donita, four brothers,brJesse, Fred, Everett and Cecil House; two sisters, Alice Williams and Ethel Klelm.brbrHe is survived by his wife, two daughters, Jeanie Stone and J anlta Stanfield Eddiebrall of Clovis; four grandsons, Wayne Harpold Laura of Kansas City, Missouri,brWilliam Brent Harpold Lorna; Waylon Harpold La Shona of Clovls; Neal StanfieldbrGinger of Waco, Texas; one granddaughter, Mandy Cowley Kelby of Lubbock, Texas; three greatgrandsons, Tryston Harpold, Seth Harpold, Caxton Harpoldbrof Clovis and two greatgranddaughters, Sunny Cowley of Lubbock; Gentry Stanfield ofbrWaco, Texas; one brother, Oscar House, of Amarillo, Texas and one sister, Cordle Davis of Ajo, Arizona. brbrBrother Doug Brooks and Dr. Herbert Bergstrom will be officiating the services at thebrParkland Baptist Church Services will be held Friday , April l, 2005 at 10:00 a.m.brPallbearers are Eddie Stanfield, Neal Stanfield, William Harpold, Wayne Harpold,brWaylon Harpold and Kelby Cowley.brbrArrangements are by SteedTodd Funeral Home of Clovis.brbrMemorial Contributions may be made ro the Parkland Baptist Church Building Fund.
