Cora Barela of Clovis NM passed away September 10, 2014 in Amarillo, TX surrounded by her family. She was born on April 5, 1934 in Ricardo, NM to Emiliano and Claudita Sandoval Gauna. She was preceded in death by her parents Emiliano and Claudita Gauna, four brothers: Enriquez Gauna, Eugenio Gauna, Pat Gauna, Lucio Guana, and four sisters: Nona Samora, Rose Mares, Mary Barela, and Favolia Sena.

Cora is survived by her nine children Kathy Haas of Lee Summit MO, Cindy Garza Eddy of Greenville SC, Martha Chavez Ricky of Clovis NM, Bertha Romero Alex of Clovis NM, Susan Gallegos Rosario of Fritch TX, Pasty Cruz Louie of Davenport IA, Harold Barela Nelly of Clovis NM, Johnny Lee Barela of Clovis NM and Teresa Hirt Matt of Albuquerque NM. Cora is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.

Our Mother was a homemaker and the love of her life was her 9 children and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Sunday Rosary will be held at SteedTodd on September 14, 2014 at 6:00 PM. Monday Mass will be September 15, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren Lucas Barela, Elias Chavez, Armando Gallegos, Ignacio Romero, Isaac Chavez, Johnny Joe Barela, Severo Chavez and Johnathon Barela. Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren. Condolences may be given online at www.steedtodd.com.
