Cordelia Vargas

Cordelia (Cordie) Vargas. 87, of Farwell TX went home to be with The Lord surrounded by her loved ones on September 22, 2022.

Cordelia was born on August 29, 1935 in Clovis, NM to Josefita and Lucresio Armijo. She is survived by her son Richard Vargas and two daughters, Barbara Castillo and Christine Cordova (Joe Cordova); Sisters Irene Olivarez (Jose Olivarez) and Gloria Regalado; Sister-in-law Delores Armijo; 15 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

Cordie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Vidal Vargas; son David Vargas; sisters June Sandoval and Antonia Naylor; brothers Lee Armijo and Felix Armijo & great grandchild Harmonii Castillo.

Cordie loved to read her Bible and she loved Jesus. Her faith was incredible and so beautiful. There was never a day that passed that she wasn’t praying for her family and those around her. Cordie always had a smile on her face and enjoyed being an avid volunteer in the church community. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife and mother, and an amazing grandparent to all her grandchildren. She always thought of others first. Cordie will be greatly missed by her family and all those who were blessed to know her.
