Curtis Jinks Leon Johnston, 72, went to be with the Lord July 28, 2014 at Plains Regional Medical Center.
Curtis Jinks Leon Johnston was born June 12, 1942 to Elmer Leon Johnston and Laura Inez Nixon in Littlefield, Texas. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and riding his tractor with his grandchildren. Curtis loved his church High Plains Baptist and singing Gospel music. He was in the United States Army and National Guard during the Vietnam Era. Curtis was proud to be an American. He was an Insurance Investigator for 20 yrs., Commercial BankerLoan Officer for 20 yrs. and a Real Estate Agent for 12 yrs.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Curtis is survived by his wife Melcena Cene Allen Johnston of Clovis, one daughter, Lisa Kia Norman of Clovis, one son, Randy Johnston Amanda of Clovis, one sister, LaNell Linder Wesley of El Paso, Tx, six grandchildren, Katie Bussard of Clovis, Nekoda Kia of Clovis, Sedona Johnston of Clovis, Olivia Kia of Portales, Katie Kia of Portales, Kyle Kia of Portales, nephews, Blake Bunch Jan of Clovis, David Conrad Laura El Paso, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Randy Johnston, Norman Kia, Blake Bunch, David Conrad, Nekoda Kia, Wesley Linder, Danny Thompson and Harold Nixon.
Services will be held at 2pm Thursday, July 31, 2014 at High Plains Baptist Church with Chris Boatman officiating. Burial will follow at Portales Cemetery.
