Curtis Lay Jr, 72, entered into eternal peace on September 11, 2017 in Lubbock TX. Curtis was born on December 13, 1945 to Curtis and Ora Lay in Wasco, CA. Curtis was a very active member of the Lions Club, and had a passion for traveling, so much that he attended the National Conventions for the club in Boston and New York. He loved being with his family, and couldn't wait for their family reunions, which gave him more opportunity to hang out with all his nieces and nephews.
Curtis is survived by his brothers: Johnny (Genita) Lay of Melrose NM, and Jim (Donna) Lay of Melrose NM; and his sister Violet (Harvey) Widner of Dallas TX; his nieces and nephews: Mike Widner, Todd Widner, Jeff Widner, Richie Lay, Leslie Lay Riley, Leesa Avent, Josh Lay, Caleb Lay, Jared Lay, Joni Evans, Jeremiah Lay, Levi Lay, Laney Pierce, and Libby Sobey. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gene Lay.
A graveside service will be on September 13, Wednesday, at 2:00 pm at the Melrose Cemetery.
