Dale Head, age 64 of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on April 1, 2013 at Clovis Healthcare and Rehab in Clovis, New Mexico.
Dale was born on February 4, 1949 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Allen M. and Leona D. Mills Head. Dale grew up in Clovis, NM and graduated in 1967 from Clovis High School, where he was Mr. Plainsman. He excelled as an athlete and was an avid sports fan. He attended ENMU where he played football and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. After college, he served four years in the New Mexico National Guard. He enjoyed his occupation as a truck driver which began with hauling cattle for his father and progressed to a longhaul career, where he enjoyed driving from coast to coast. His claim to fame was being cast as a truck driver extra for the movie Convoy. He was known around Clovis as The Doctor or The Marshall. His family and friends remember him as unselfish, loving and giving. He leaves behind his beloved pets, Snoops and Shadow.
He is survived by his mother: Leona Head of Albuquerque, New Mexico one sister: Chere Gulledge of Bedford, Texas four nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father: Allen Head and one sister: Tyletha Ezzell.
Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, New Mexico with Alan Brockmier officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
