Daniel M. Soto, age 71, of Clovis, New Mexico went Heaven on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Daniel was born on September 6, 1940 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Enrique and Sabina Morales Soto. He was the third child of 14.
He moved to Clovis from California in the sixties. He hauled hay at that time. He was the activity bus driver for the Clovis schools for 15 years. He owned and operated Magic Steam Laundry along with his wife. He was a hard worker and an excellent provider. He helped raise a granddaughter and a great grandson. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis and was a man of strong Catholic faith. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, even up until the end. He loved to garden, it was one of his joys in life. He was a Dallas Cowboy fan and most of all he enjoyed his time with Mr. G.
Daniel is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Estella of the family home home a son, Ted Soto Rachel of Clovis, NM he raised two stepchildren, Artie Martha, Jr. Luna of Roswell, NM, and Emma Eddie Luna seven grandchildren, April and Isac Soto, Sonny and Jeremy Luna, Esmeralda and Antoinette Trejo, and Anthony Eliseo five great grandchildren, Christopher and Esmeralda Chavez, and Adrian and Gabriela Enriquez and one on the way brothers, Don Soto and Henry Soto sisters, Alice, Dora, Sally, Angie, Carmen, Rosie, Mary, and Frances, all of California.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Sabina Soto one brother and two sisters.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 28, 2012 also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Sotero Sena, officiating. Serving as Pallbearers are, Ted Soto, Isac Soto, Artie Luna, Sonny Luna, Jeremy Luna, Anthony Eliseo, Christopher Chavez, Jr., and Adrian Enriquez. Honorary Pallbearers are, Mr. Nick Griego, April Soto, Esmeralda Trejo, Antoinette Trejo, Esmeralda Chavez, Gabriela Enriquez, and Bennie Soto.
