Danny Coburn

Danny Lee Coburn, age 47, of Melrose, New Mexico, passed from this life Friday, December 31, 2010 at his home in Melrose. He was born on July 8, 1963 to Owen Daniel and Rose Barr Coburn in Farmington, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Owen Daniel Coburn and by his grandparents, Ivan and Nadine Barr. The survivors, missing him enormously are his mother, Rose, of Farmington his wife, Cathy, and daughter, Lauren, of Melrose Ray Riley, Sarah Hester and husband, Dan, of Billings, MT sister, Teresa Sanders and husband, Ben, of Bakersfield, CA nephews, Tyler Sanders of Washington, D.C., and Trent and Travis Sanders of Vallecito Lake, CO three grandchildren, Amara, Camron and Lyndon, all of Billings, MT and two uncles, Scott and Randy Barr of Farmington, NM, as well as their families. Danny also leaves behind numerous friends from all over New Mexico.

Danny spent the majority of his younger years in Farmington where he graduated high school, was a competitive wrestler and played baseball for many years. His fondest memories of growing up were of time spent hunting with his dad. It was his dad who instilled in Danny the values of hard work, pride in a job well done, and Dannys love for nature and of all Gods animals. Those close to him would laugh that Danny would stop in a heartbeat to help an animal but he had little patience for most people

Danny met and married Cathy in 2003, a tough job considering it also netted him three children, a granddaughter, and not to forget the extensive inlaws. But Cathy finally convinced him to move to Melrose in 2009. Hes been there since continuing to work as hard as he could even after a stroke had left him without the use of one hand.

Dannys loyalty as a husband, a son, and a friend could not be equaled Those lucky enough to count themselves as his friends never doubted he would do whatever it took to help them out He will be dearly missed

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011 at SteedTodd Chapel in Clovis, New Mexico, with Tyler Sanders officiating. As Danny wished to be buried next to his Dad, burial will be Saturday, January 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington, New Mexico. Casket bearers will be Tyler Sanders, Travis Sanders, Trent Sanders, Josh Procter, Charles Barr and Freddy Procter. All who wish are invited to attend.
