She married James H. Jimmie Sartain Jr. on June 30, 1934, at the home of her parents inthe Field community. Daphna and Jimmie farmed for 23 years before moving to Clovis in 1957. Daphna was active in the county extension clubs, holding local, county, and district offices. She sang in the Trinity United Methodist choir as well as sponsored many of the youth activities. She worked as a seamstress at the Vohs Company and especially enjoyed sewing for her daughters and grandchildren. Being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her greatest joy. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
