Debora Bowman was born April 7, 1956 in Rome, NY, and passed away July 16, 2019 in Clovis, NM, surrounded by her family.
Memorial services will be held 4:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Steed Todd Chapel in Clovis, New Mexico with Pastor Wayne Boydston officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, July 19, at Steed Todd Chapel, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A memorial dinner will be held Friday, July 19, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles at 6:00 PM.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Richardson, Ben Phipps, Dan McBride, Jonel Goodman, Bill Dudley, Jimmy Docherty, and Chris Thomas.
Debbie worked as Activity Director for Golden Age Nursing Home, Activity Director for Retirement Ranch, Director of Older Adults for City of Clovis, and Area Director for Area Agency on Aging. She also served as Madam President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She is survived by her husband Jim, daughters Misty McBride (Dan), and Jennifer Campbell (Zadoc); her sons David (Becky) Burress, Rusty (Staci) Burress, Jim Bob (Melissa) Bowman; and her adopted sons Jonel Goodman and Bill Dudley; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Doug Thompson; sister Denise Clark; and father Russell Thompson (Lea). She was preceded in death by her mom and step dad Montez and Enlow Killman; two brothers Donnie and Danny Thompson; her best friends Mary Baines and Juanice Lesher.
She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandma, and devoted everything to her family. She was an outstanding cook and loved to bake, especially with her children and grandchildren. She had a contagious smile that lit up the room and made it her constant mission to bring joy to everyone around her, no matter what she was going through. Her battle with cancer was long and painful, but she fought with courage and grace. Her kindness was immeasurable, her strength boundless, and the memories she has left will be carried in all of our hearts forever.
