Delaphane Mccord

Delaphane Dela Walker McCord, 85 of Clovis, N.M. passed from this life on February 3, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was born August 17, 1924 in West Liberty, Kentucky to Roy and Maud Walker.

She married Worth Gaston Mac McCord on July 21, 1944 in Fort Scott, Kansas. She remained a supportive and devoted military wife from 1944 until their retirement in 1984 from Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis.

She was a military spouse, a soldier without recognition, without a chest full of metals and without rank. We celebrate her contributions and sacrifices made while supporting a military husband. She stood among the silent ranks known as the military wife.

She was also a devoted and loving mother, whose most precious things in life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nothing gave her more pleasure than to have everyone converge on her home at the same time.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Studzinski of Katy, Texas Jackie Steve Thornton of Chillicothe, Ohio one son, Ronald Wayne Ronnie Kim McCord of Clovis grandchildren, Jimmy and Sean Studzinski, Kendra Thornton, Magan Hebert, Kristin Wall, Cody McCord, Kerri Scano, Stephanie Thornton and Lindsey Thornton great grandchildren, Brennon, Alexis, Jayda, Kainan, Zaedyn, Zharia, Ashley, Cameron, Taylor, Faith, Samantha, Nick, Zach and Aubriana.

She was preceded in death by her parents husband two brothers, Umbert Walker and Charles Adams and her beloved pets Katy Pepper.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 at SteedTodd Chapel. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Kendra Thornton, Jimmy Studzinski, Sean Studzinski, Magan Hebert, Kristin Wall and Cody McCord.

The family will be at 608 W. Yucca Ave. in Clovis.
