Dennis Baker

Dennis D. Baker, 66, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Clovis Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Clovis, New Mexico.

Dennis was born January 12, 1944, to Mildred Thomas and Archie Baker in Clovis, New Mexico. He lived his first fourteen years in the Ranchvale Community and moved into Clovis in the ninth grade. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1962, and then from Oklahoma State University School of Agriculture in 1966. In 1967, Dennis was married to Betty Bales in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was a farmer for many years, and was later employed by Willliams Insurance Agency in Clovis, where he sold crop insurance.

Dennis was a member at First Baptist Church in Clovis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Baker in 1997, and his brother, Darrell Baker in 2007.

Survivors include his daughters, Sherry Chaparro and Jamey Greco mother, Mildred Baker sister, Darla Blair brotherinlaw, Keith Blair sisterinlaw, Sharon Baker and eight grandchildren, Roman, Caitlynn, Shayla, Kyler, Kayden, Tana, Kember and Christian.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 13, 10:30 a.m. at Parkland Baptist Church with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating, assisted by Pastor Wayne Boydstun. Pallbearers will be Gary Elliot, David Williams, Randy Harris, Buddy Bennett, Tim Crown, and Ronnie Eaton. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Burnett, Alain Burnett, Joe McCarson, Steve Burnett, Monte Matlock and Steve Baker.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of SteedTodd Funeral Home, 800 E. Manana Blvd., Clovis, New Mexico 88101.
