Dickey Richard Chapman, a kind-hearted and dedicated individual, passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on November 18, 1960, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Mary Chapman (Versita Va Padilla) and Juan Chavez, Dickey lived a full life marked by service, love, and creativity.

Dickey proudly served in the Army National Guard as a medic from 1985 to 2000. He also worked as a chief technician in dialysis for over 30 years, dedicating his career to helping others. His selfless spirit and commitment to his work inspired countless individuals. In his free time, Dickey had many hobbies and loved to build and tinker with all types of projects. His creative pursuits brought him joy and allowed him to express himself in unique ways.

Dickey is survived by his five children: Elisa (Alison) Lafrenz-Chapman, Richard (Johnna) Chapman, Mary Chapman, Meranda Chapman, Nicole Martinez-Romero; 2 grandchildren: Mariah Chapman, and Anjelo Gonzales; Siblings: Debbie Lopez, Terry Chapman, Diane Chapman, Danny (Clara) Chapman, and Delbert Chapman. Dickey is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Chapman; father, Juan Chavez Chapman; and brother David Chapman.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Steed Todd Funeral Home, 800 E Manana Blvd, Clovis, NM. A Rosary will be conducted on Saturday January 11, 2025 starting at 10:00 with funeral services to follow at 10:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 108 Davis St, Clovis, NM. Father Eli Valadez will be officiating. Dickey will be laid to rest at Mission Garden of Memories, 3600 W 7th St, Clovis, NM.
