Dinnie (Gentry) Tosh was born to the home of John and Oza Gentry in the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico on October 6,1933. She passed from this life on December 22,2023 at the age of 90 years. Dinnie grew up in the Weed, New Mexico area, where she graduated high school. Following graduation, Dinnie briefly attended Eastern New Mexico University before marrying Charles (Bud) Tosh on February 21,1953. The newlywed couple lived in Belen, New Mexico, and then in Topeka, Kansas for a short time before returning to Belen where Charles was employed by the AT&SF Railroad. After Charles retired, the couple moved to Clovis, New Mexico to be closer to family.
While living in Clovis, Dinnie was an active member of the Portales Valley Church of Christ until her declining health no longer allowed her to make the drive to Portales. She was a member of the 16th and Pile Church of Christ at the time of her death.
Throughout her lifetime, Dinnie was a skilled gardener and quilter. She enjoyed growing her own vegetables, roses, and other beautiful flowers. An accomplishment she was very proud of was crafting a quilt for both of her children and their spouses, as well as her four grandchildren.
Dinnie is preceded in death by her parents, Charles (her husband of 67 years), a sister (Frankie Lacer), a son-in-law (Mark Pinkston) and a grandson (Jason Pinkston).
Survivors include her two children; Janice (Cecil) Kendall of Clovis and Steve (Julie) Tosh of Aledo, Texas; four grandchildren; Scott (Anna) Kendall, Kevin Kendall, Samantha (Clint) Foutch, and Rachel (Lawson) Priess; and five great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later time, with no additional services planned.
The family of Dinnie Tosh wishes to thank the staff of Retirement Ranch for the comfort and care that they provided while she lived there.
