Donald Eugene Black
On June 9th 2018 we lost Donald Black after a courageous three month fight to overcome several health setbacks. He was born at home on December 17th, 1933 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to Clarence and Hallie Black.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Marion; daughter and son in law Jeff and Melissa Kiehne, son Clarence Black; grandchildren Donny, Hailey, Tyler and Addison; sister Cindy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He proudly served 26 years in the United States Air Force retiring as a CMSGT at Cannon AFB in 1987. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving two years in support of the war. He also served two years in the US Army from 1956-58 and was stationed on the Korean DMZ for 15 months. Our Dad was one of the most consistently supportive people you could have ever met. He loved his family with all of his heart and cherished each and every one. He had the best sense of humor and loved living simply, sitting on his swing, his dogs, big band music and a good grilled steak.
Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:00am at Living Stones Church of the Nazarene on Friday, June 15, 2018. His life will be celebrated at 11:00am, immediately following visitation on Friday. Burial to follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery.
