Donald Ray Hughes, 68, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born March 6, 1940, in Dumas, Arkansas. He graduated from McGehee High School in Arkansas and served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Hughes; his mother Connie Tucker of Claremore, Oklahoma; two sisters, Carolyn Riley and husband Fay of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Margie Lippott and husband Dudley of Belle Fourche, South Dakota; one brother Tom Hughes and wife Joan of Clovis; three step-daughters Kennie Ryan and husband Terry L. of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Betty Mitchell of Austin, Texas, and Marie Collier and husband Allan of Artesia, New Mexico; as well as several step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
