Don Miller passed away November 27, 2009 in Lubbock, Texas. Services will be held Wednesday, December 2nd at 12:00 noon at Steed-Todd Chapel. Don was born February 8, 1930 in Forrest, New Mexico. He grew up in the Forrest and Plains area. He entered the U.S. Army at the age of 17 with his brother Ervin. After serving his country, he returned to the Clovis area. He worked as a truck driver and also for the Railroad in his early years. He later became a welder and worked in Texas until he retired in 1988 and returned to Portales. He remained in Portales for the rest of his life. He loved sports and would spend hours watching football, bull riding and basketball. He loved to fish and camp and was his happiest with a cup of coffee and a fishing pole.

Don had three children Sharon and Roman Cavett of Portales, New Mexico; Dawn and John Bhote of Monroe, Louisiana; and Earl Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren Keith and Anna Cavett of Canyon, Texas; Shelly and David Johnston of Canyon, Texas, Bonnie Bhote and B.J. Bhote of Monroe, Louisiana and Audra Hyde of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five great grandchildren Coulton Cavett, Brittany Johnston, Haylee Johnston, Sarah Lopez, and Jacob Leyba; numerous nieces, nephew, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his Parents, one daughter Donna, one brother Ervin, two sisters Juanita and Norma.
