Donald Nelson

Donald Dean Nelson, 53, of Clovis, NM passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on November 27, 2024, in Lubbock TX.

Funeral services will be held January 18, 2025, at 11:00 am at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel. Matthew and Nellie Aragon will be officiating.

Donald was born in Clovis, NM to Lucila (Aragon) Nelson and William Nelson on April 16th, 1971. Donald graduated from Clovis High in 1990 and soon after attended Hi Tech Institute in Phoenix, AZ. He graduated with an associate's degree in architectural design. Donald worked for Eastwood Construction as a heavy equipment operator for many years and was also a caretaker.

Donald played the electric guitar all his adult life and was extremely talented. He spent much of his free time jamming his favorite metal tunes. Donald also enjoyed umpiring baseball and was involved with coaching for many years. He had an interest in 80's and 90's BMX bikes as this was a childhood passion of his.

Donald is preceded in death by his mother Lucila (Aragon) Nelson, grandparents Senon and Florida Aragon and Donald and Jackie Nelson.

Donald is survived by his son Josh Nelson, his father William Nelson of Iowa, his brother Mark (Barbara) Nelson, nieces Cassie (Juan) Gutierrez, Savana Nelson, Cameron Nelson, great nephews Aiden, Jaxon, Brixton and great niece Luna, all of Clovis
