Donald Peterson

Donald Pete Peterson, 86, passed away on April 12, 2013. He was born on October, 3, 1926 in Clovis, NM to James Fredrick Peterson and La Vaga Neely Peterson. Donald grew up in Clovis, NM and attended school where he enjoyed playing football and baseball. After high school he was drafted into the Army serving in Japan and is a WW II Vet. He married Mary Madalen Hill in Ft. Sumner, NM in 1961. Donald and Mary lived in Clovis where they settled and he farmed for himself for 50 years, before retiring.

Donald enjoyed Fishing, hunting, bowling, and raising livestock. Later in life he relaxed by watching TV, eating his apples and getting out for a daily walk. He also enjoyed driving around in his ford pickup.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Mary, Brother John, Sister Maurine, Brother James Edward, and Brother baby Peterson. Nephews: Gary, Terry, Danny Reid, Paul Fields.
Donald is survived by his Sister Mozell Fields Clovis, Brother Oscar Peterson and Sister Marsha Reid Logan, NM, step Daughter Barbara Don Temberton Clovis, step Son Jody Donna Morgan Washington and his numerous nieces and nephews.


Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis with Rev. Wayne Boydstun officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be all his nieces and nephews. Family Friends will be gathering after services at Parkland Baptist Church 921 Parkland.
