Donella Ruiz

Donella Gail Ruiz, age 49, of Clovis, NM gained her angel wings to enter Heaven on December 25, 2018 in Clovis. She was born on December 6, 1969 to the home of Albert and Mary (Martinez) Lewis of Clovis.

Donella worked as a counselor for Team Builders and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was strong willed and feisty. Donella would gladly give the shirt off her back to help those in need. She loved riding motorcycles until her health stopped her from doing so. Donella also enjoyed camping every time she could. She modeled herself after Betty Boop. Her greatest loves were her dogs, her niece Kacy Allen, nephews Kyle and Taylor Allen and her great nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all.

Donella is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Romolo and Aurelia Martinez and her paternal grandparents, Albert and Gerda Lewis.

She leaves behind her parents, Albert and Mary Lewis of Clovis; her husband, Denny P. Ruiz of the home; brothers, Ray (Jennifer) Gutierrez of Rio Rancho, NM and Ethan A. Lewis of Colorado Springs, CO; her sister, Michelle (Lonnie) Hendren of La Belle, FL; and nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 5th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Mass of Christian burial beginning at 10:30 AM with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Serving as honorary bearers are her nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in Donella's honor.
