Dora Gallegos-Chavez, 83, died Monday, March 13, 2006 at Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas. She was born April 5, 1922 in Borica, NM to Bernard Gallegos and Lucia Trujillo Gallegos. She married Juan Chavez on September 10, 1939, in Ft. Sumner, NM. Family said she was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend, and she loved her children very much. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and praying the rosary.brbrShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Frank Serafin, Gilberto, and Julio Gallegos; two sisters, Lizarria and Maria Gallegos; one daughter, Antonia Chavez; one son, Isidro Chavez; and one nephew, Sonny Gallegos.brbrShe is survived by four sons, Manuel Chavez and wife Loretta, Alex Trinnie, Gilbert and fiance Martinia, all of Las Vegas, NM and John Nina of Clovis; one sister, Peligia Ulibarri of Clovis; one brother, Bene of Clovis; 10 grandchildren, Manuel, Darlene, Anthony, Gerald, John, Jr., Gary, Angie, Kenneth Julio and Alejandro; 19 great grand-children; 9 great great-grandchildren; and her special friends and staff from Vida Encantada Nursing Home.brbrA rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 10:00 a.m. with Father Carlos Chavez, officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.brbrAnthony, Gary, Kenneth, Gerald, Julio, and Alejandro Chavez will serve as pallbearers.
