Doris Meeks

Services for Doris Francel Meeks, age 84, of Farwell, Texas will be held at the First Baptist Church in Farwell, Texas at 3:00 p.m. CDT 2:00 p.m. MST on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Rev. Bobby Atwell will officiate and Pastor Russ Ponder will assist. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace Cemetery in Farwell, Texas. Pall Bearers will be her grandchildren: Brad Atwell, Kip Atwell, Nathan Richardson, Nick Richardson, Scott Meeks, Trenton Meeks, Chase Meyer, Garhett Von Hoene, Brydon Von Hoene, Joy Morton, Jaime Devenport, Chelsea Meyer McClure, Kaylyn Meyer, Lauren Meyer, Tyler Meeks, Trevor Meeks, Kaitlynne Meeks and Kaylie Meeks.

Doris passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012 in Farwell, Texas. She was born on August 3, 1928 to James Alexander and Fairy Mae Hardage Stovall in Seymour, Texas. She was a resident of Farwell for most of her life. On April 17, 1947 she married the love of her life, Grover Wallace Meeks. Doris was a member of First Baptist Church in Farwell. She loved her Lord, her family and music and tried to instill these loves on to her family.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Grover Meeks five daughters: Jeanne Morton of Lubbock, Texas, Linda Atwell Bobby of Arlington, Texas, Debbie Richardson Rocky of Clovis, New Mexico, Donna Meyer Stuart of Farwell, Texas and Tonya Von Hoene Greg of Farwell, Texas two sons: Jimmy Meeks LaWanda of Farwell, Texas and Paul Meeks of Farwell, Texas one sister: Mildred Erwin of Albuquerque, New Mexico eighteen grandchildren twentyone great grandchildren with another great grandchild on the way.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents three brothers one granddaughter, Cindy Lue Meeks and one great granddaughter: Serenity Paige Moreno
