They lived in Lexington, Minnesota until Clarence was inducted into military service. She came to Clovis January 1, 1943 where her husband was stationed at Clovis Air Base. She started working at Clovis Memorial Hospital the next day. They were here for 2 years. After the war she lived at St. Peter, Minnesota where they farmed for 3 years. She moved back to Clovis in 1949 and worked at Memorial Hospital. Later, she was school nurse for the Portales Public Schools for 11 years and then the Clovis Public Schools for 6 years before retiring in 1974. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1945, the National Association of Retired Veteran Railway Employees and the New Mexico Association of Educational Retirees..
