Dorothy Nadene Bell, age 88, passed from this life on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, NM, after an extended illness. She was born to Kenneth and Lorene Vandevender near Grady, NM, on March 15, 1922.
She grew up near and in Grady, graduated from Grady High School and attended two years of college at Portales, NM. Nadene married Clarence Bell on July 7, 1954 in Clovis, NM. They enjoyed a wonderful life together for 56 years, 4 months and 22 days. It couldnt have been any better.
Nadene was a devout Christian. She loved the Lord with all of her heart, and was credited with leading a good number of people to the Lord in her lifetime. She served as organist at two different Christian Churches for almost 17 years in Clovis, NM. She was employed at Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad in the Superintendents office as Steno and Records Clerk for 22 years before having to retire because of failing health.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Bell, of the home one son, Kenneth Patsy Bell of LaGrange, California six grandchildren two brothers, Adrian Georgeann Vandevender of Clovis, NM, and Howard Charlotte Vandevender of McKinney, TX sisterinlaw, Fern Acuff of Clovis, NM numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Parkland Baptist Church in Clovis with Pastor Kenneth Broad officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis. Pallbearers will be Gary Acuff, Dennis Acuff, Sandy Vandevender, Skip Vandevender, Doug McGregor and Gary Fly.
