Dorothy Walkos, age 91, passed away on February 14, 2014, after an extended illness. Following Dorothys wishes, she has been cremated.
Dorothy was born in Chicago, Ill to Marie and Albert Lubben, on March 29, 1922. On March 23, 1940, Dorothy was married to John Walkos. They had two children, Donna and Guy.
They moved to Tucumcari in 1972 and began managing the Circle S Motel. They later managed the Town House Motel. While still at the Town House they opened Dandy Good Donuts. After that they purchased the franchise for Circle K which they operated for several years.
Surviving Dorothy is her daughter Donna Townsend and husband Dennis, and son Guy Walkos and wife Debra, all of Tucumcari. Also surviving are grandsons Kevin Connell and Jill of Gunter, TX, grandson Scott Connell and LaTonya of Lakeland, Fl, Ryan Walkos and Celeste of Belen, NM, Brett Walkos and Michelle of Tucumcari, NM, one granddaughter Chasity Brito and Homer of Midland, TX. Also surviving is one brother, Redford DuPass and Joan of Sacramento, Ca. and eighteen GreatGrandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2011, and her parents.
