Dorothy Woyt, 87, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Beehive Homes of Clovis. She was born September 9, 1922, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Cecil and Dora Shearman Moggs.
She married Alfred Woyt February 17, 1945 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She had been a resident of Clovis the past 17 years, moving to Clovis from Bridgeport, Connecticut. While in Bridgeport she and her husband were members of Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Trumbull, Connecticut. For many years before she retired she worked as a nurse in Bridgeport. After her retirement, she served as a volunteer at the hospital. She was a member of Parkland Baptist church in Clovis.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara Woyt of Big Sur, California and Linda Bolyard of Clovis grandson, David Bolyard of Clovis and Ehren Woyt of Big Sur granddaughter, Sarah Cardenas of Clovis great granddaughter, Ayley Bryanna Cardenas of Clovis and sister, Margaret Northrup of Wilmington, North Carolina.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at Parkland Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Boydstun and Rev. Roy Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be Charlie Eldridge, George England, Woody Taylor, Billy Williams and Gary Zoelzer. Honorary casket bearers will be Fred Johnson, Bill Hodges, Marshall Fair, Cliff Masters and Dick Gressett.
