Douglas Lee Trotter, age 77, of Clovis, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at his home in Clovis following a brief illness. He was born October 2, 1933, in Seneca, Nebraska to Charles Lee and Helen Trotter.
Doug grew up in Needles, California before joining the Navy and proudly serving his country during the Korean War. Doug was a Seabee. He made his living as an independent truck driver, and married his loving wife, Ann, on April 15, 1978, in Holbrook, Arizona. The couple worked as a driving team and traveled the country together. They lived in Portales, and then Doug moved to Clovis following the loss of his wife.
Doug is survived by his sister, Twila and his brotherinlaw Hugh Brown and their children, Ron, Rachelle and Ranelle. He will be missed by all of his wonderful friends in Clovis and the surrounding areas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Margaret Ann, and his wonderful dog, Sara.
Doug was a strongwilled, proud veteran who flew the American flag everyday in his front yard. He wanted no services to be held after his passing, and when asked what he wanted written he replied, Flew with the best, now ready to rest.
