Douise Ellison

Douise Ellison, 80, of Farwell, Texas, passed away on November 22, 2024 in Amarillo, Texas.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 2nd at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, New Mexico throughout the day.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am central time on December 3rd at Hamlin Memorial Methodist Church in Farwell, Texas with Larry Mitchell officiating. A burial will follow at Bovina Cemetery in Bovina, Texas. Arrangements have been made with Steed-Todd Funeral Home.

Douise was born in England, Arkansas to the late Hattie Bell (Morgan) McCormick and A.R. McCormick on January 27, 1944. The family moved from Arkansas in 1954 and located in Bovina, Texas. Douise attended school in Bovina, then she met and married Jerry Ellison on

September 29, 1959. Jerry and Douise moved to Clovis, New Mexico where Jerry began his lifelong career of construction. Douise started her own business as a drapery maker and then transitioned to a business partner with Jerry until his death. Douise loved to travel with Jerry in her motor-home, spend time working and enjoying the mountains in Angel Fire at the cabin, and working on her home and in her yard.

Douise is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Tim and her husband, Jerry. She is also preceded in death by her two sisters, Janice and Wanda, as well as three of her brothers, Everett, Billy and Robert.

Douise is survived by her daughter, Ginger, and son-in-law, Lance. She is also survived by two brothers, Eldon and Tommy McCormick. She is survived by three sister-in-laws, Ruby McCormick, Lois Damron, and Lillie Christian.. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jeff McCormick, Alton McCormick, Steve Williams, Todd Christian, Clayton Davis and Ryan Monk.

The family of Douise wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the healthcare providers that have taken care of her these past few years, as well as all the family and friends that have been a part of her life.
