Doyce Newman

Doyce Ray Newman, 74, of Logan, New Mexico, died Monday, December 15, 2008, in Tucumcari. He was born September 12, 1934, in Clovis, New Mexico.

Doyce was a long time resident of Melrose, New Mexico. He graduated from Field High School in 1952. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas. He farmed and raised cattle in the Melrose area for many years. Doyce lived in Logan, New Mexico for the last several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Grace Newman; 2 brothers, Alvin Newman and Ronnie Newman and 1 sister, Evelyn Newman.

Doyce is survived by 1 brother; Johnny and wife Dianna Newman of Burleson, Texas; 2 sisters, Ernestine Williams and Donna and husband Bob Bruce all of Tucumcari, New Mexico; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial may be made to the Baptist Childrens Home, P. O. Box 629, Portales, New Mexico 88130.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis with Jason Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery, Melrose, New Mexico. Pall Bearers are Wendell Bostwick, Ernest Riley, Jamie Widner, Lynell Widner, Cory Bruce, Justin Newman
