Earl A. Ford, 78, of Clovis died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center.brbrHe was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Evansville, Ind., to Earl Anderson and Gladys Hayhurst Ford. He married Ruth Mendoza on Jan. 7, 1947, in El Paso, Texas. He was a longtime Clovis resident. He came to Clovis to set up the West Texas Lucerne Milk Co. delivery system. He worked for Safeway Stores, Inc. as a truck driver for 31 years, retiring in 1987. Family members said he loved to work on cars.brbrHe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alien Keith Ford; a brother, Billy Alien Ford; and a sister, Marion Shekell. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Andy Ford and wife, Trudi of Clovis, Thomas Ford Cindy of Fort Worth, Texas, Billy Ford of Clovis and Daniel Dutch Ford Judy of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.brbrServices will be held on Friday at Steed-Todd Chapel at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Jason Schwope will officiate services. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mark Harrison, Jay Queener, Daryl Ward, Jim Tidenberg, Jimmy Looney and Andy Ford will serve as pallbearers.brbrArrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home.br
