Eddie Meeks of Clovis NM died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 20 2021.
He left behind his wife, Kimberly Meeks and their 4 rescue dogs, Opal, Cooper, Smokey and Lily.
Eddie never met a dog he didn’t love and every dog loved him right back. (Milk Bones were
always found in his pockets).
Eddie also leaves behind his Brother and Best Friend, David Meeks, his cherished older sister,
Jan (Terry) Hughes and younger sister Carolyn Hardage. Eddie loved his family as much as his rescue
dogs and was a wonderful step-father to Jennifer and David McDaniel and their spouses Gabe
Pfeiffer and Maly McDaniel. Eddie was also a proud G-Pa to his beloved Harlow and Collin.
Harlow named him G-Pa and loved him dearly.
He also leaves behind his nephew, Todd and Amanda Green; nephew, Lyle and Amber Cooper;
niece Mandy and Anthony Garcia; nephew Kyle and Jessica Hardage and niece Andrea Hardage;
many loving cousins, his Aunt Ruby, and his brother-in-law, Greg and Carolyn Nibert. His life
was rounded out by the love of his very tight knit group of friends. They are a brotherhood
who stand by each other through thick and thin.
Eddie graduated from Texas Tech and worked as a Crop Consultant for the last 45 years.
He loved going to Texas Tech sporting events and keeping up with High School Football Games
across the State of Texas.
His unique sense of style could be seen from his hats down to his shoes. If you have ever seen
his closet then you know!!!
Eddie was on a deep spiritual journey and he walked with Jesus daily. He touched everyone’s
life he met by showing kindness and compassion. He was caring, generous, loving and a Godly
Man.
If you were lucky enough to know him then you know how special he was.
We know Eddie is in a better place, but our hearts ache from this sudden loss.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lee and Margie Meeks and a brother, Alan Lee Meeks.
In Lieu of Flowers, we ask that donations be made to your favorite Dog Rescue Organizations.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, March 25, 2021 11:00am (Texas Time) at Farwell
Country Club.
John 14: 1-3
Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough
room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare
a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be
with me where I am
