Edna Colson

LaVerne Colson, 77, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Thursday, October 26, 2006 at her home in Clovis, New Mexico. She was born September 21, 1929 in Cee Vee, Cottle County, Texas to A. L. and Ethel Rolland Barker.

She is survived by sons, Ray Plyler of Florida, Steve Plyler Yolanda of Clovis, Lonnie Colson Beth of Santa Fe, Buddy Colson Susan of Wichita, Kansas, Scott Plyler Dena of Clovis and Bruce Colson Sabrina of Clovis; daughters, Ronda Button David of California, Kay Duncun Ian of California and Joan Pippin Mike of Dallas, Texas; 27 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ida Barker of Texas; sisters Dorothy Plyler LD of Washington; sisters, Willie Mae Ostler of Albuquerque, Irene Marrs of Texas and Jewel McGon of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eck Colson; daughter, Lesa Gant, infant sons, Troy Roy Colson; great grandson, Trevor Cole Taylor; brothers, Claude LC Barker and sister, Ernestine Bayne.

Family and friends were very important to her. She was dedicated to the Lord.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2006 at Steed-Todd Chapel with Pastor Jason Schwope of Sandia Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
