Edna Scott

November 5, 1919 — June 24, 2016

Edna Scott, age 96, of Clovis, NM, passed away on June 24, 2016 in Farwell, TX.
Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.

Edna was born November 5, 1919 in Hollene NM to Sam Campbell and Mattie Black Campbell. She went to school at what is now New Mexico State University, New Mexico Highlands University, and received her Masters Degree in Education from Eastern New Mexico University. She was an educator for 37 years, teaching in Rosedale, NM and Clovis. In Clovis, she taught at La Casita, Eugene Field and the majority of her years at Parkview Elementary as a 6th grade teacher.
She was well known in the community for her fabulous garden, filled with literally hundreds of roses and other flowers. She always had a fresh flower arrangement on the table and shared her flowers with everyone. Ask anyone who knew her about her homemade bread, fried chicken and desserts. We all bear the results of her time in the kitchen! When her daughter lived in Japan, she and her husband discovered the joys of international travel visiting 4 of the 7 continents as well as all around our wonderful USA. Always loving to learn, she was not deterred by her diminishing eyesight "reading" books on tape everything from Aristotle to Harry Potter and everything in between. Her favorite read was about the religions of the world, always wanting to learn more about our great and loving God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and sisters, and her beloved husband, Eugene Scott.
She is survived by her daughter Diana Kiley of Clovis and her son Larry (Carol) Scott of Abilene, TX; her sister Bobbie Mitchell of Riverside CA; her grandchildren Patrick (Kimberly) Kiley of Las Vegas, NV; Damon (Julia) Kiley of Seattle, WA; Kirk Scott of Dallas TX, Christy (Shannon) Sievert of Rockwall, TX and Kathy Scott of Dallas, TX; 6 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Josie Campbell of Clovis, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
