Mildred Effie Isbell, 65, of Clovis, passed away on April 1, 2017 in the comforts of her home with
family and friends at her side.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00pm, on Saturday April 8, 2017 at Parkland Baptist Church, with Pastor Wayne Boydston officiating.
Effie was born in Muleshoe, Texas to Charly and Florence Crawford on June 5, 1951. She was married to Thad James Isbell Sr. for 29 years and together raised 6 children, Thad James Isbell Jr. (Cowboy), Brenda Kathleen Hodges, Sammy Bryan Isbell, Charles Wayne Buchanan, Sarah Kay Teel and Latisha Jane Bibbs. Effie took exceptional pride in serving her community. As a 14 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles where she sat as the Ladies Auxiliary President for 2016-2017, she also held positions as Chaplain, Vice-President and Honorary Grandmother of the Junior Order of Eagles and was a 25-year member of the High Plains Muzzleloaders Club. Her passion in life was helping others and she continued that passion through her nursing career and volunteer services.
Effie was preceded in death by her husband Thad James Isbell Sr., her mother and father and her son, Cowboy.
Effie is survived by 5 children/step children; 1 brother; 1 sister; 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren with 1 more enroute.
Honorary Pallbearers are Roger Wallace, Cobey Isbell, Danny Palmer, David Murphy, Randy Beevers, Jack Merchant, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3245 and all members of the Blackwater Band.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, at the request of Effie, may be given to Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ladies Auxiliary Presidents Project located at 611 Industrial Park Rd. Clovis, NM 88101. All memorials will be presented to Effie's chosen charity of the year.
The family of Effie Isbell wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3245, the wonderful nurses and doctors at the Clovis Cancer Center whom she tried to adopt, the staff of Interim Healthcare and to all those who lifted mom and our family up in prayer.
