Effie Northcutt

Effie Mavanee Kemp Northcutt was born on May 21, 1921 to Charlie and Effie Wiggins Kemp in Pidcoke, Texas. She grew up in and around Coryell, Texas near numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She married Elmer Northcutt in Clovis, New Mexico on November 26, 1938. Other than living in Littlefield, Texas for a short time they lived in Deaf Smith County and Ima, New Mexico.

She and Elmer had three children: two sons: Elmer Northcutt, Jr. Sonny and Jerry Kemp Northcutt and one daughter: Wanda Lynn Northcutt Page. They raised a niece and nephew: Tom Northcutt and Nita Northcutt Jernigan.

In 1998 Mava moved to Clovis and then she resided in Retirement Ranch until her death. Mava was an accomplished cook, seamstress, quilter and gardener. She was a member of the Messenger Home Demonstration Club, Ima Quilters and was a faithful member of the Broadview Church of Christ. She was a wonderful mother and help mate to her husband on the farm and ranch. She was a much loved Ma to her family, friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents her sister: Charlcie Clark her husband two sons: Sonny Northcutt and Jerry Northcutt a nephew: Tom Northcutt a grandson: David Page and a great grandson: Tell Northcutt.

She is survived by her brother: Charles Kemp Kitty of Richardson, Texas her daughter: Wanda Page Bill of Grady, New Mexico Judy Northcutt wife of nephew Tom Northcutt of Houston, Texas and her children: Bryan Northcutt and Scotty Northcutt and their families of Houston, Texas grandchildren: Kemp Northcutt Rulyn of Blanchard, Oklahoma Todd Northcutt Tammy of Broadview, New Mexico Lisa McCasland Stacy of Wheeler, Texas and Rod Page of Penrose, Colorado great grandchildren: Greg and Madison Northcutt, Gary and Kendra Brown, Tyrell and Maria Northcutt, Tanner and Tori Streety, Tucker Northcutt, Timia Northcutt, Jansen and JShay Moore, Caleb and Bree McConnell, Tayt McCasland, Zack McCasland, Zay McCasland, Aaron Dearing and Garrett Page great great grandchildren: Sasha, Ephraim and Sophie Northcutt, Lila Ann and Irelynn Northcutt and Isla Moore.

Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Broadview Church of Christ in Broadview, New Mexico with Stacy McCasland officiating and Ron Bontrager, assisting. Casket bearers are Kemp Northcutt, Todd Northcutt, Stacy McCasland, Rodney Page, Jack Clark and Joe Connally. Honorary casket bearers are Mavas great grandsons: Greg Northcutt, Gary Brown, Tyrell Northcutt, Tanner Streety, Tucker Northcutt, Jansen Moore, Caleb McConnell, Tayt McCaslend, Zack McCasland, Zay McCasland, Aaron Dearing and Garrett Page. Burial will follow at Hollene Cemetery in Hollene, New Mexico.
