Elbert Mitchell

Elbert E. Mitchell, age 81 of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on February 25, 2013 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico.

Elbert was born on December 7, 1931 in Grier, New Mexico to Richard Dewey and Rebecca Elizabeth Hurley Mitchell. He was a lifelong resident of the Grier community. He graduated from Ranchvale High School, where he played basketball. He married Beulah Stephens on March 26, 1950 in Ranchvale, New Mexico. He farmed in the Grier community all of his life. He loved to ride motorcycles, play the violin, the mandolin and the guitar. He especially loved to go camping with his grandkids. He was a member of Faith Christian Family Church.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah, of the family home in Clovis, New Mexico one daughter: Diane Steve Beloat of Alto, New Mexico one son: Lonnie Cindy Mitchell of Grier, New Mexico one sister: Iris ORear of St. Vrain, New Mexico two brothers: Waymon Loretta Mitchell of Lubbock, Texas and Ronnie Wanda Mitchell of Clovis, New Mexico four grandchildren: Kristi Lenderman, Dana Monte Boaz, Darin Lacy Mitchell, Julie Shane Stuckwish and eight great grandchildren: Kyler and Kendall Boaz, Katelyn and Morgan Lenderman, Kaden, Kaleb and Jase Stuckwish and Alexander Mitchell.

Elbert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Leon Mitchell.

Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Faith Christian Family Church in Clovis, New Mexico with Pastor David Swann officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, New Mexico. Casket bearers are Elberts grandchildren and great grandchildren.
