Elmer Burke

Elmer Ray Burke, 58, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born August 29, 1951 in Clovis to Claude J. B. Alice Geneva Hunt Burke.

He traveled around, living in Odessa where he worked in the oil fields. He returned to Clovis in 1998. He liked working on motors, machines and equipment. He was so happy to be reunited with his daughter, to see and correspond with her.

He is survived by two daughters, Angel Marks of Fairchild AFB, Washington and Rose Marie Burke of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one son, Claude Charles Burke of Albuquerque; two sisters, Claudia Dobesh of Bellville, Texas and Betty Lou Strickland of Mississippi; one brother, Charles Gene Burke of Truxton, Arizona; 1 grandchild; uncle, Glen Burke of Clovis and cousin, Billy Burke.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
