Elmer P. Robberson, 97, of Clovis passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Roosevelt General Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1909 at McAlister, New Mexico to Charlie Bell Robberson and Prudence Mae Tatum Robberson.
He attended school at Ard, Roosevelt, and McAlister. His family moved to Stillwell, Oklahoma where he worked in a hotel, played sports, and represented his high school at the Kansas City Royal Stock Show. His family moved back to McAlister where he graduated high school.
He married Edna J. Smith April 4, 1936. He was a farmer rancher in the McAlister area for many years. He is well known in the area for his generosity, willingness to help others, sense of humor, story telling, and memory of the pioneer days. After retiring, they moved to Clovis. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley J. Mallory, his parents, his brother, Harry James Robberson, and his sister Lenna Mae Scales.
Survivors include: his wife, Edna, of the home, one daughter, ElVerna Robbie Sparks Donnie of Canon City, Colorado, five grandchildren: Brenda Mallory Gottlieb Mike, Linda Mallory Saidla Ryan, Melissa Sparks Lettis Jim, Robb Sparks, Amy Sparks DeVries Nathan, and four great-grandchildren. One brother, Martin Slick Robberson, and one sister Mary McConnell.
Services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Clovis. Rev. Wayne Salguero will officiate. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
