Elsie Berry

Elsie Berry age 71 of Melrose, New Mexico passed away December 6, 2007 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born April 21, 1936 in Field, New Mexico to Tee and Ruby McDaniel Berry.

She grew up and went to school in the Field Community. She moved to Melrose in 1954. She and her sister Tressie watched children for many families in the Melrose Community. From 1991 to 2002 she worked as a Library Aide for the Melrose Schools. She was a member of the Melrose Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sisters Beatrice Hunt and Tressie Berry both of Melrose; Nephews Coy and wife Gail Hunt of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Bill and wife Lisa Hancock of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Niece Jean and her husband Rick Jackson of Hereford, Texas; and a aunt Lee McDaniel of Clovis, New Mexico; numerous cousins and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Oletta Hancock, one brother in law Spider Hunt and a nephew Doyle Hunt.

Services are scheduled for Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Melrose Church of Christ with Otho Rogers and Grady Bright officiating. Burial will follow at the Melrose Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Derek Hunt, Derin Hunt, David Hunt, Rick Jackson, Bill Hancock, Russell Wheeler, Larry DeVaney, Barry Allen, Dennis Dodd, and Keith Corbin
