Elise "Lisa" Blair
January 25, 1933 - September 5, 2024
Elise "Lisa" Joy Johnson Blair, aged 91, was called home on September 5, 2024, where she was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband of 58 years, Teddy R. Blair, daughter Kelly Brusven, grandson Teddy (Trae) Blair III, parents Cecil and Lena Odell Johnson, her siblings Roy Johnson, Cecil Johnson Jr, William Johnson, Juanda Darland and other family members who transitioned before her.
Lisa was born January 25, 1933, in Dimmitt, Texas. She was raised in Clovis and attended Clovis High School. She married her high school sweetheart on graduation day 1951, thus embarking on the adventurous life of a military spouse, raising three children while traveling the globe exploring the cultures and cuisines of far-flung places. Upon his retirement from 30 years in the Army, the Blairs returned to their hometown of Clovis and Lisa settled into life and adventures of a different sort, enjoying time with grandchildren, becoming an active member of First Baptist Church, and supporting her husband in his second career as Deputy Sheriff known as "The Singing Deputy" of Curry County. She often accompanied him on road trips in his duties of prisoner transport, criss-crossing several states.
Lisa leaves behind to mourn her loss, her daughter Daryl Blair, son Teddy Blair II and wife Carolyn of Portales,, her "onliest" granddaughter Laurel Kersh, grandsons Domenic Blair of Nevada, Gage Blair of Los Cruces, granddaughter-in-law Tori Blair of Clovis, adopted granddaughters Sara (Toby) Weist of Clovis, Kayleigh (Kaleb) Gentry of Portales, Lindsey Keller of Portales, and numerous great grandchildren as well as her most dear son-in-law Todd Brusven of Iowa.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2025 in Clovis. Arrangements by Steed-Todd funeral home.
