Ford, Elvin Ray 81, of Clovis, NM, passed away December 1, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Elvin was born September 1, 1930, in Bellview, NM to Roy and Ocie Pulliam Ford. After graduating from the former Bellview High School he joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean Conflict. After completing his Military term he moved to Tulsa, Ok where he met the love of his life Margaret Warden Ford and joined in Marriage on November 30, 1956. The couple later moved to Texas and worked hard raising their family. After his fathers death in 1979 he moved back to Broadview, NM and took over the family farm until his illness prevented him from continuing his passion of farming.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Margaret Ford of Clovis, NM, children Sherry Ford of San Jon, NM, Roger Ford and his wife Michelle of Mangum, OK, Rodney Ford of Dallas, TX, Brenda Ford of Dallas, TX, George Ford of Las Vegas, NV grandchildren, Allison Ford Winham of Sand Springs, OK, Shelby Ford of Mangum, OK and Cameron Cole of Dallas, TX, brother, Gary Ford and wife Donna of Broadview, NM.
Elvin was preceded in death by daughter, Shirley Ford, sister, Jolene Ford and brother, Edsel Ford.
A Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the Steed Todd Memorial Chapel with interment to follow in the Grady Municipal Cemetery. Rev. Heath Husted will be officiating.
