Elvira Muniz, age 87 of Farwell, Texas, formally of Tulia, Texas entered into rest on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Farwell.
She was born on March 13, 1930 to the home of Pedro and Gabriela Muniz in Aledo, Texas.
Elvira received a Bachelor's Degree in Art and taught public school in Tulia, Texas for 40 years where she retired and later entered into teaching once again in the public schools in Hereford, Texas and retired from there as well. She loved traveling, cooking for her grandkids, and really enjoyed engaging in American Politics. She will be missed by all her family whom she loved so very much.
She is survived by her two sons, Alex Gutierrez of Amarillo, TX, Victor (Christy) Gutierrez of Farwell, TX; her daughter Andrea Muniz of Mitchellville, Iowa; three grandchildren, Victoria Gutierrez, Joslyn Gutierrez, and Jacob Gutierrez; and her brother, Ernesto Muniz of San Antonio, TX.
Elvira is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Gabriela Muniz; her two sons, Robert Garcia and Joseph Gutierrez; and her three sisters, Eloisa Martinez, Helen Gloria and Alicia Esparza.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 1:00pm MST and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30pm MST at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Clovis, New Mexico with Fr. Simon Carian, officiating.
Burial will take place on Friday, May 5, 2017 in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, Texas at 11:30am CST. with Fr. David Contreras, presiding.
Serving as Pall Bearers will be Jacob Gutierrez, Ernie Esparza, Preston Esparza, Eddie Esparza, Toby Esparza, and Tyler Bitela.
