Emmie Love

Emmie Love, age 82, of Clovis, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was born on September 4, 1928 to Escar and Blanche Christesson Burton in Forrest, New Mexico.

Emmie married Mason E. Love in 1950 in Forrest, NM, and worked at Clovis High School in the cafeteria after her husbands death in 1984. She was a member of the 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis.

She is survived by one daughter, Etta Love of Albuquerque one son, Jimmy Nita Love of Clovis one granddaughter, Shannon Rob Matteson of Albuquerque three grandsons, Cody Kristina Colvin, Zach JoAnn Love, and Jeremiah Vrenda Love, all of Clovis five greatgrandchildren one greatgrandchild, to be born four sisters, Yvonne Mercadante, Faye Angelina McWilliams, and Bertie Snipes, all of Clovis, and Ellen Burton of Albuquerque and numerous nieces and nephews.

Emmie is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Billy Burton.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis with Larry Tittle officiating and Ron Johnson assisting. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers will be Randy McWilliams, Jack Snipes, Randy McCasland, Tom Colvin, David Smith, Todd Spears, Guy Smith, Ralph Tapscott, Larry Smith, Chris Stettheimer and Robert Matteson.
