Epifanio Garcia

Epifanio Garcia age 94 of Clovis, NM passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis.

He was born on January 19, 1919 in San Antonio, TX to Jesus and Anita Garcia. He was a lifelong resident of Morton, TX before relocating in 1981 to Clovis, NM to be near his daughters and grandchildren. Epifanio enjoyed walking, taking daily walks to stay fit. Many times this included walks from one side of town to the other. He was known by many. He enjoyed listening, singing and dancing to Musica Nortena, but demanded silence when his favorite band, Los Tigres Del Norte, came on the radio. He danced with the wolves into his late 80s. He married Albertina Luz in 1940 in the state of Texas.

Epifanio is survived by his children: Venancio Garcia of Clovis, NM, Dora Ybarra of Lubbock, TX, Adella Quiroz of Clovis, NM, David Garcia of Portales, NM and Eve Ramos of Clovis, NM sixteen grandchildren, twentysix great grandchildren eight great great grandchildren one sister: Manuela Peralez of Hobbs, NM three brothers: Chyo Garcia of Brownwood, TX, Beto Garcia of Lubbock, TX and Tony Garcia of Clovis, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Albertina Garcia in 2001 a set of infant twin children his son: Molito Garcia and stillborn daughter Maria Garcia his son: Jose Garcia in 2002 and his sister: Cheva Chavarria.

A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is at 2:00p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis, NM with Father Fernando Saenz officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis, NM. Pallbearers are Fernando Ramos, Eva Ramos, Ruben Quiroz, Joe Segura and David Garcia
