Esequiel G. Maes, 80, of Clovis, New Mexico died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born August 23, 1926 in Willard, New Mexico to Epimenio Eloisa Gallegos Maes.

Mr. Maes married Toni Duran March 21, 1967 in Clovis, New Mexico. He had been a longtime resident of Clovis and was a roofer and mechanic. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, hunt and fish. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Teresa Chavez of Pueblo, Colorado; 2 sons Freddie Maes of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Marty Maes of Portland, Oregon; 4 brothers Paul Maes, Joe Maes and Ciriaco Maes all of Clovis and Margarito Maes of Santa Fe, New Mexico; 1 sister, Rosie Chavez of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 2 grandchildren Nathan Chavez of Clovis and Yvonne Duran of Pueblo, Colorado and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Isidro Maes and sisters, Lola Lucero, Amilia Archuleta Carolina Lures.

Pallbearers will be Orlando Maes, Paul Maes Jr., Michael T. Chavez, Johnny Gonzalez, Armando Galvan, Val Gonzalez, Roberto Martinez Joshua Morales.

A rosary will be Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Clovis. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.

A family rosary will be held Monday, September 4, 2006 at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis.
