Eugene Hester

Eugene Clarence Hester, age 85, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away Monday December 19, 2011 at St Anthonys Healthcare and Rehab Center in Clovis, New Mexico.

He was born on June 28, 1926 in Finley, Oklahoma to Clarence and Mae Donham Hester. He moved to New Mexico as a baby. He lived in the Fields community growingup. Before graduating from high school, he joined the United States Navy. He lived in the Melrose area most of his life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Melrose. He worked for the New Mexico State Highway Department as a heavy equipment operator. He retired in 1991 after many years of service.

Eugene is survived by three daughters: Lorica Tony Bazen of Coos Bay, Oregon Ella Jones of Melrose, New Mexico Kathy Rick Dawson of Akron, Ohio two sons: Jack Treasa Hester of Clovis, New Mexico Ed Jan Hester of Bandon, Oregon one brother: Ray Lodie Hester of Melrose, New Mexico nine grandchildren, fourteen greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene, two brothers and one sister.

Family visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at SteedTodd Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 800 E Manana Blvd, Clovis, New Mexico.
