Eula W. Hopingardner Cox age 86 of Clovis died Monday, May 26, 2008 at Clovis Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was born April 18, 1922 in Laverne, Oklahoma to
T.J. and Mae Schaffer Hopingardner. She married Howard A. Cox December 16, 1947 in Clovis. She was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years were she enjoyed working in labor and delivery. She had the nickname Hopi and enjoyed reading, watching her fish in the aquarium, crocheting. She taught school at Humphrey Montessori School was a Girl Scout Leader and was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband Howard A. Cox; Daughters Janet Burkett of Austin, Texas; Barbara Cox of Clovis, New Mexico; Debbie Green Darrel of Clovis, New Mexico; brothers Willis J. Hopingardner and Robert Lee Hopingardner; grandchildren Ellen and Lee Jones, Michelle and Vince Ascerno, Darren Ray Green, and great grandsons Jason Ascerno, Connor Ascerno., numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held May 31, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Steed-Todd Chapel with Dr. Brad Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ray Green, Mike Grube, Max Stansell, Lindy Stansell, Sam Humphrey, and Jason Adams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Miller, George Hicks, Duane Howard, E.K. Shuey, B.D. Snelson, Carol Hendricks, Jr. Houston, Herb Hartle, Herb Hultman, and Arno Massey.
