Eula Lee Sally Ellis, 96, of Denver, Colorado died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at North Star Nursing Home in Denver, Colorado. She was born September 22, 1910 in Crowell, Texas to Ollie Elsie Boren Thomas.

Her parents came to New Mexico in 1916 in a covered wagon and filed on a homestead in the Estancia Valley where she went to school until 1922 when they moved to Clovis. She attended school in Clovis and this was her home for several years. In later years she moved to California where she married Lester Ellis. They owned and operated a drapery shop for several years. Sally was a seamstress and after the war was over she moved back to Clovis and opened a shop in her home where she sewed for people until she became too old to keep doing this kind of work. She then moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked for a short time, and then she was entered into a nursing home where she lived until she passed away.

She is survived by two brothers, David L. Thomas of Santee, California and Jimmy Rex Thomas of Slaton, Texas; 1 sister, Nola Mae Belen of Alamogordo, New Mexico; 6 nieces and 11 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Lois Graham Flossie Gentry and 2 brothers, Raymond Curtis Thomas and Troy Martin Thomas.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
