Eva Lynn Denison, 79, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was born December 7, 1929 in Vigo Park, Texas to Everett Sallie Rossetter Rountree.
She was raised at the Baptist Childrens Home from the age of 5 until she turned 16. She lived in New Mexico several years before moving to Lubbock, Texas, where she lived for over 30 years. She moved back to Clovis in 1999. She was a musician and played the piano for the Tiny Lynn Band for many years. After retiring from the band she continued to play the piano for many different organizations. She loved to cook for her family and friends and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by 8 children; Richard Moore Judy of Portales, New Mexico, Vickie Fitz Delton of Lubbock, Jerry Moore of Lubbock, Kathryn Moore of Questa, New Mexico, Glenda Downey David of Clovis, Dana Powell James of Slaton, Texas, Brandy Maples of Lubbock Dakota Denison Rhenae of Littlefield, Texas; her sister Elysbeth Ann Whittle of San Antonio, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and her cat, Howly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, J. W. Kent Rountree; 2 grandchildren, Travis Moore Kelton Fitz and 1 great grandchild, Alex Rodriguez.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Margot Thompson officiating.
Honorary casket bearers will be her grandsons.
